Umigari is a fan-maintained discovery hub dedicated to atmospheric horror and inventive indie games. We do not develop, publish, or sell software. Instead, we embed officially published demos, trailers, and storefront widgets via iframe or link back to trusted platforms so players can quickly understand a title’s tone and mechanics.

What We Do

Our editorial team curates information from developer websites, official YouTube channels, Steam pages, and other authorized sources. Each feature focuses on background context, gameplay highlights, and where to support the original creators—never positioning our coverage as the “official” or “exclusive” version of a game.

Before a page goes live we validate every embed for stability, permissions, and compliance with the host platform’s terms. If a source is removed or a creator revokes permission, we remove or update the listing immediately.

Editorial Guidelines

All copy, screenshots, and summaries are written in-house following these standards:

• Reference only verified announcements, developer logs, or licensed media to ensure accuracy
• Clearly flag horror, gore, or age-restricted themes so visitors can make informed choices
• Mark sponsored placements or paid partnerships with visible disclosure labels
• Keep advertisements outside the playable iframe area and separate from editorial copy
• Refresh or retire content promptly when rights holders request changes or when information becomes outdated

Supporting Game Developers

We respect creative ownership. Whenever we profile a release we:

• Highlight the developer, publisher, and official purchase or wishlist destinations
• Embed only assets the creator has made publicly shareable or licensed for press use
• Share high-level traffic metrics on request and cooperate with takedowns or updates
• Maintain a changelog when copy or assets are revised so stakeholders can track adjustments

Developers are welcome to send public demo links and press kits. We review every submission for safety, licensing, and fit before featuring it.

Advertising Standards

Umigari relies on Google AdSense for contextual advertising. All ad placements comply with Google policies, regional privacy laws, and our internal guidelines. Ads never overlay iframes, masquerade as gameplay prompts, or obscure critical content.

Content Moderation

Every embed is checked for appropriate age rating, malware risks, and compliance with intellectual property rules. If users or rights holders flag copyright, safety, or accuracy issues we investigate within 24 hours and take action as required.

Accessibility and Compatibility

We test embeds across major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and device classes. When an iframe only supports desktop or requires extra plugins, we note those requirements to avoid misleading visitors.
